During the Congress, Kairat Azimov, Director of International Cooperation and Protocol of the Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation, spoke about the key priorities for developing Kazakhstan’s wrestling at the international level, systematizing the Federation’s activities and forming unified standards.

“The core of our strategy today is to build a unified system, develop strong regions and, through this, pave the way for a victorious future. We no longer need fragmented actions; we need a vertical system that truly works. The Federation and the regions must operate under the same regulations, the same rules and common standards. In the future, the electronic database of athletes, the register of coaches and referees, as well as the ranking and statistics system will be fully organized. The way athletes earn points, enter the national team, and gain access to state support and grants will be managed through an open and understandable system. In addition, specific KPIs will also be introduced for the work of regional federations.

Our long-term objective is to place Kazakhstan among the world’s top five wrestling powers by 2036. To achieve this, we will establish as our main strategic plan the stable winning of medals at the Olympic Games, annual placement in the TOP 10 at World Championships, and bringing women’s wrestling in Kazakhstan among the strongest in Asia. To achieve these goals, projects such as the National Wrestler Card, the International Wrestling Academy, Wrestling Digital Hub, the Coach – 2030 program, as well as scientific and innovative support areas will be implemented,” said Kairat Azimov.
