During the Congress, Head of the International Wrestling Academy Zhandos Saikhanov spoke about the Kazakhstan Wrestling Academy and National Wrestling Club projects.
“The Kazakhstan Wrestling Academy and National Wrestling Club are two closely connected projects. Their common goal is to train wrestlers within a unified system, starting from children’s sports and continuing all the way to the national team. In other words, it is important to identify talented children at an early age, guide them properly, provide quality training and education, and prepare them for elite sport. The Academy should become a center for training the national sports reserve. Here, an athlete must not only master wrestling techniques, but also learn discipline, responsibility, how to defend the honor of the country and how to prepare properly for victory.
The main task of the Academy is to prepare the reserve of the national team, develop promising athletes, hold centralized training camps, strengthen scientific and medical support, develop women’s wrestling and form a coaching personnel reserve. National Wrestling Club, in turn, will be aimed at forming the country’s strongest Olympic reserve. The club should involve the leaders of the youth national team, the reserve of the national team, promising athletes of the Academy and the best wrestlers from the regions. Our goal until 2032 is to create a unified training system,” said Zhandos Saikhanov.
