Kazakhstan’s U15 freestyle wrestling team wins 9 medals at the Asian Championships

Team Kazakhstan finished the competition day with one gold, four silver and four bronze medals. The gold medal was added to the team’s tally by Miras Abdikarim, who competed in the weight category up to 41 kg.

Miras Abdikarim began his campaign from the quarterfinals. At this stage, he defeated Hong Kong’s Shu Yan Sung by technical superiority with a score of 10:0. In the semifinal, he faced India’s Gautam Gautam and won 6:1. In the gold-medal bout, Miras defeated Uzbekistan’s Asomiddin Badritdinov 5:2 and became the Asian champion.

Silver medalists:
Bektore Zamanbek (44 kg);
Amir Serik (48 kg);
Nail Zeynalov (68 kg);
Yersultan Suleimen (75 kg).

Bronze medalists:
Damir Salavat (38 kg);
Madiyar Abdikarimov (52 kg);
Bibarys Tuzelbayev (57 kg);
Zelimkhan Tsitskiyev (85 kg).

Thus, the young wrestlers finished the Asian Championships with nine medals and took second place in the team standings.

It should be noted that the U15 and U20 Asian Championships will continue until July 5.
