Yerkin Okassov, President of the Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation, paid a working visit to Shymkent.
During the visit, the Federation President congratulated the athletes and coaches of Kazakhstan’s U20 freestyle wrestling team, which delivered a strong performance at the U15 and U20 Asian Championships held in Pattaya, Thailand. The national team finished first in the overall team standings.
In recognition of the team’s successful performance at the continental championships, Yerkin Okassov presented the athletes and coaches with a KZT 5 million monetary award certificate on behalf of the Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation.
As part of the working visit, the Federation President also toured the Almatau Sports Complex, where he reviewed its facilities, equipment and the training conditions provided for young wrestlers.
Yerkin Okassov also met with the Kazakhstan U17 Greco-Roman wrestling team, which was completing its preparations for the World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
He wished the athletes and coaching staff success at the upcoming World Championships and assured them that the Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation would provide all necessary support.
