Kazakhstan Finishes Asian U20 Wrestling Championships with 22 Medals
The Asian U20 Wrestling Championships have concluded in Da Nang, Vietnam, with Kazakhstan’s wrestlers achieving impressive results on the continental stage. Team Kazakhstan collected 22 medals overall — seven gold, ten silver, and five bronze. In freestyle wrestling, gold medals were won by Nurdanat Aitanov (61 kg), Maiis Aliev (70 kg), Nurdaulet Seilbekov (74 kg), and Rizabek Aitmukhan (125 kg). Silver medals went to Yelaman Amangeldy (54 kg), Yerkhan Abil (79 kg), and Abylaikhan Uzembayev (86 kg). Shattyk Alaidar (65 kg) claimed a bronze medal. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Aibek Aitbekov (60 kg) and Islam Evloev (97 kg) became Asian champions. Nurmukhammad Ibrakhim (72 kg), Alikhan Dursunov (77 kg), Yerassyl Zhenis (87 kg), and Dzhokhar Uzarov (130 kg) finished with silver medals. Dias Nurakov (63 kg) and Kirill Minko (82 kg) added bronze medals to Kazakhstan’s tally. In women’s wrestling, Shugyla Omirbek (55 kg) captured the team’s only gold medal in the discipline. Altyn Shagayeva (57 kg), Tynys Dubek (62 kg), and Alina Yertostik (76 kg) earned silver medals, while Laura Ganikyzy (50 kg) and Viktoria Khusainova (59 kg) secured bronze medals.
