The U15 and U20 Asian Championships in Pattaya ended with important results for Kazakhstani wrestlers.
The main achievement was the first place of Kazakhstan’s U20 freestyle wrestling team in the overall team standings. Our young wrestlers won 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. In particular, Bekassyl Assambek and Nurdaulet Seilbekov became Asian champions in the 61 kg and 74 kg weight categories. Thanks to this result, Kazakhstan rose to first place in the overall team standings of the Asian Championships.
The U15 freestyle wrestling team completed the competition with 1 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. The gold medal was won by Miras Abdikarim in the 41 kg weight category.
Kazakhstan also claimed many medals in Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling. In the U15 category, the Greco-Roman wrestling team won 3 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals. Rolan Kim in the 48 kg category, Daniyal Kanatbay in the 52 kg category and Yeraly Muratov in the 85 kg category became Asian champions.
Kazakhstan’s U20 Greco-Roman wrestlers won 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
The women’s wrestling teams also added to Kazakhstan’s medal tally. The U15 team claimed 3 bronze medals, while the U20 team won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
Thus, our young wrestlers finished the Asian Championships in Pattaya with strong results. We congratulate all athletes and the coaching staff on this significant achievement!
