The U17 Asian Wrestling Championships are continuing in Da Nang, Vietnam.
During the latest day of competition, female wrestlers competed in five weight categories. Kazakhstan secured one medal in women's wrestling, thanks to Ayanat Meinambay. In the bronze medal match, she defeated an athlete from Chinese Taipei by technical superiority, 10-0, to earn a place on the podium.
The first day of men's freestyle wrestling also took place, with Kazakh wrestlers competing in three weight categories.
The standout performance came from Rysbay, who captured the Asian title in the 71 kg weight class. In the final, he defeated Japan's Towa Doida with a convincing 8-1 score to claim the gold medal.
Another medal for Kazakhstan was won by Adilbek Yerbolatov in the 80 kg category. In the bronze medal bout, he earned a dominant 12-1 technical superiority victory over a wrestler from Tajikistan, securing the bronze medal.
In the 65 kg division, Kazakhstan was represented by Kuanysh Zhalsylyk. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in the early rounds of the tournament and was unable to contend for a medal.
