Another competition day at the Asian Wrestling Championships among U17 athletes has come to an end. The final medal bouts in Greco-Roman wrestling were held today.
Kazakhstan’s top result came from Miras Makhambet in the 65 kg weight category. In the final bout, the Kazakh wrestler defeated his opponent from Uzbekistan with a score of 3:2 to claim the gold medal and become the Asian champion.
Two more Kazakh wrestlers also competed in bronze medal matches during the evening session. In the 71 kg category, Timur Kussainov fell short in his bout for third place. Alinur Toleugali also narrowly missed out on a medal after losing his bronze medal match in the 80 kg division.
