The Asian Wrestling Championships among athletes under 17 kicked off in Da Nang, Vietnam. Greco-Roman wrestlers were the first to compete on the opening day of the tournament.
Kazakhstan’s team won four medals across seven weight categories.
Kuanyshbek Zhangazhol became the Asian champion in the 51 kg weight category, claiming the gold medal after an impressive performance throughout the competition.
Arystan Temergali secured a silver medal in the heaviest division, up to 110 kg. In the final bout, the Kazakh wrestler lost to an opponent from Iran.
Ali Almas (45 kg) and Datka Lesbek (48 kg) both earned bronze medals for Kazakhstan.
Two more Kazakh wrestlers also competed for bronze medals. In the 55 kg category, Diyar Amanali lost to Asylbek Karimov of Uzbekistan, while in the 60 kg division, Yeskendir Bauyrzhan was defeated by a wrestler from Tajikistan.
